A common choice for women that will fall just below the throat at the collarbone. This length is popular for adding pendants which will hang over a closed neck.

Will fall a few inches below the collarbone and allow a little more breathing room. Perfect for a low, plunging neckline or if you want to wear it over a turtleneck.

Falls at or above a low neckline.

Common with pearl strands and will hang below the bosom. They can be worn as a single strand or you can double them for an 18 inch necklace.

Silver Sources

We work predominantly in 100% sterling silver, from a range of sources;

Fairmined Silver, Eco silver and Recycled sterling silver.

We work primarily with Fairmined Silver whenever we can ( subject to the supplies available in the trade), and so therefore it makes up roughly 70% of our designs. The Fairmined silver pieces will always have the Fairmined logo hallmarked on to the jewellery. Where we have to use eco-silver or recycled silver, they will bear the relevant brandmarks. Regardless, we are very passionate about ethical jewellery activism and any collection and bespoke commission has full transparency when it comes to the materials we use.

Quartz is an important mineral on earth and makes up one of the most popular gemstone groups in the world of coloured stones. The name ‘quartz’ is thought to be derived from the German word ‘quarz’, which likely originated from the Slavic and Polish words meaning ‘hard’. The name is descriptive in regard to quartz being the definitive mineral that measures 7 on the Mohs scale of hardness.

There are many different varieties of quartz; ‘Rose’ quartz gets it name from the pinkish tinge and ranges in Strong pink to pale pink but with a cloudy or milky appearance. Rose quartz is colored by chemical traces of titanium, iron or manganese.
It is usually found in Brazil, India, Madagascar, Mozambique, Namibia, Sri Lanka and the U.S.A.

Rose quartz is often called the “Love Stone.” It’s energetic hallmark is that of unconditional love that opens the heart chakra.
It carries a soft feminine energy of compassion and peace, tenderness and healing, nourishment and comfort.
Its loving energies teach us to apply this love to ourselves and everything around us and this is why we have chosen rose quartz as our trademark stone. All necklaces and bracelets are finished with our KASHKA signature drop-set rose quartz.

Here at KASHKA we wanted to celebrate the versatility of silver and what we can do with the material. We have tried to do this with using different finishes on the products. Some pieces may appear to look the same on the website but we have indicated that they are available in two different finishes, for instance High polish and Satin Polish.

High Polish

Polish finished rings are the most common finish on rings and jewellery.  This type of finish is very shiny and reflective.  You should be able to clearly see your reflection in the piece.  For those who like their jewellery to be noticed, this finish is an excellent option.

Satin Polish

Satin finished rings are smooth to the touch like polished finish rings.  However, you will not be able to see your reflection on the surface of the ring.  It is kind of like a mirror that is fogged up.  For example, a bathroom mirror after you take a shower.  This type of finish is best for those who like the smoothness of a polished finish piece, but do not want the shininess of that finish.

Brushed Finish

A brushed finish is similar to a satin finish.  Both, the satin finish and the brush finish are not shiny.  The difference is that a brushed finish has a texture to it.  It looks as if the texture was made with a wire brush.  You can see tiny brush-like marks on the finish, hence the name brushed finish.  This type of finish is very popular with people who work with their hands a lot, because it is not shiny and if the material does gets scratched, it will not show up easily on the jewellery’s surface as it’s part of it’s aesthetic.

Hammered Finish

This type of finish is quite popular with men who prefer a non-shiny finish and want something unique.  The texture of this finish is a dimpled look, that looks like a hammer was used to pound each dimple on the surface of the ring, thus the name of this finish.  This finish is usually two finishes in one.  First, it is hammered, then a satin finish is applied to the hammered finish so it will not be reflective.

An oxidised effect is created by accelerating the natural tarnish that appears on silver over time. It is possible to create lots of colours with this technique but generally oxidised silver is dark grey and can then be lightly brushed to pick out the details on a piece of jewellery.

Wire brushed finish

One of our newest kinds of finishes that we offer is the beautiful wire brush finish. This finish is similar to brushed, but with deeper more noticeable brush marks. This finish resembles fine hairs in a way and offers those that like smooth rings without a polished finish.
